Intuitive task pane concept

Designed with top-notch user experiences, WebTextEdtior offers a breakthrough, blockless user experience, enabling users to conveniently perform various editing tasks simultaneously. Task pane is one of visual elements in WebTextEditor that implements this concept, providing a resizable and extensible container that can be used for multiple purposes without requiring page blocking. For example, when compared to traditional dialog-style image insertion, Media Gallery Task Pane provides faster, easier and more intuitive way to insert and work with images.

Media gallery pane

Browse, search, and insert medias has never been so easy. Not only does WebTextEditor revolutionize editing experience, it also makes media browsing and searching a snap. Forget the slow, heavy dialog boxes. With WebTextEditor, users can just click on the Media Gallery to open the task pane and browse over collection of images and videos. Then double click to insert a media into text editor, or simply drag and drop it! A media resource represents a collection of medias which contains images, sound files and videos. You can create as many number of media resources as you require. Furthermore, users can also narrow down their search by selecting a specific media resource in the Media Gallery user interface.

Table designer pane

Table designer pane provides the most comprehensive editing tools to create and design table instantly – from drawing a table, selecting a predefined table layout, to full customization on each row, column, and cell. When selecting different table element, the table designer pane intelligently reflects the commands according to the selected element. For example, when a cell is clicked, table designer pane will show all cell-related actions and properties.

Form control pane

Form control pane provides users with an intuitive way to add all kind of form controls to the editor. Various supported form controls are Button, Fieldset, Horizontal Rule, IFrame, Input Button, Input Checkbox, Input File Upload, Input Hidden, Input Password, Input Reset, Input Submit, Input Text, Marquee, Select Dropdown, Select List box, and Text area.

Custom Task Pane

Task pane is a sophisticated user interface metaphor that enables users to work with editor and other objects more intuitively. Thanks to WebTextEditor’s task pane architecture, it also allows you to create your own task pane and enjoy the benefits of naturally-integrated editing experience. Creating custom task pane is done through extensible pane object interface which has been elegantly designed to support custom processing end-to-end. Simply inherit the task pane object, implement the custom UI and additional functions you desire, and register it to WebTextEditor through API calls.
